Pudding is a reflective platform on design. From graphic design to fashion and architecture, from the Senseo coffee machine to the S-32 dining chair by Marcel Breuer. Design is about the instruments that shape our daily lives.
About the platform
Platform Pudding is a contemplative platform on design that takes on various forms. It aims to achieve a cross-pollination between theory and practice within design and explores the influence of design on society from various perspectives and writing styles. At the same time, the platform aims to contribute to design criticism, or in other words, to reflect on design and material culture.
From Mona to Michelin, from machine-produced in a mold to grandma's recipe. The pudding is versatile, diverse, and resilient.
The saying ‘the proof is in the pudding’ implies that you only truly know something when you try it. Similarly, Pudding, as the name of our project, symbolizes a way of looking at things and working. With an eye on the big picture, or conversely with attention to intimate relationships, the recipe is refined and tested.
Pudding is not a hierarchy but a coherent form. In this way, we propose a quest for a method of knowledge sharing in which exchange, substance, interaction, inclusion, and accessibility form the basic ingredients.
This platform is an initiative of Karmen Samson, Kylièn Bergh, and Mijke Tonnon. Each has a hybrid profile as a designer and researcher with experience as a maker, author, exhibition maker, and teacher, and their own specialization focused on various disciplines (interior architecture, graphic design, and fashion).

Platform Pudding is generously supported by the Creative Industries Fund NL. The editors therefore thank everyone who contributed to the initiative to stimulate reflections on material culture.
